Kinect - or wait! OPENKinect

Microsoft's newest addition to the Xbox family is the seeing eyeball the Kinect AKA.. depth sensor / other high tech terms most of you will not understand. The Kinect has a bright future ahead of it, however something has happened that Microsoft originally didn't see that would happen. The code junkies out there have successfully made an open source driver for the Kinect. What does this mean? This means that with the right tools and software anyone is able to hook there Kinect to there computer and use it. YES THAT RIGHT. You will soon be able to use the Kinect (Now called OPENKinect) with some programs on your computer. From simple desktop functions to some games being made. Is this Illegal you ask? The answer is no. The Modders / Hackers (hacking isn't always bad) have not opened or directly hacked the Kinect itself. All that they have done is found a way to read the data that the Kinect sends out over the USB when it is powered on.
